Wireless Communication
In its products Skybrake uses wireless communication technologies. Wireless communication is a remote data transmission without using electrical conductors or wires. Wireless communication is used in both short and long distance data transmission. An example for short distance wireless communication is the Skybrake DD2+ personal transmitter whose operation range is up to 5 meters, while, for instance, in Skybrake F20 long distance wireless communication is used for reception and transmission of GPS co-ordinates.
Wireless communication is very widely used in various fields. It forms the base for operation of a big part of contemporary devices for everyday use, like computers, computer accessories and mobile phones.
Skybrake uses the following kinds of wireless communication:
- Radio communication
- Microwave communication
- Infrared communication
Our devices use:
- point-to-point communication (example: the Personal Transmitter and engine disable module in Skybrake DD2+ immobilizer)
- point-to-multi-point communication (example: the Skybrake Black Box fleet management system communicating with several GPS satellites to calculate its location)
- and other kinds of communications
